  • Direct-fit replacement for worn or damaged OEM inner tie rods.
  • Durable ball-and-socket construction provides consistent steering response.
  • Corrosion-resistant finish for long service life in road conditions.
  • Helps eliminate steering play, reduce vibration, and prevent uneven tire wear.
  • Pre-set/greaseable design for smooth operation and simplified maintenance.
  • Ideal for restoration, routine maintenance, or performance steering rebuilds.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 60-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench or impact gun
  • Wrenches/sockets (commonly 18mm, 21mm or vehicle-specific)
  • Adjustable wrench or tie rod tool
  • Tie rod separator (pickle fork) or ball joint puller
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Grease (if greaseable) and rag
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the vehicle with a floor jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the front wheel.
  3. Locate the inner tie rod end at the steering rack and the jam nut securing the outer/inner tie rod assembly.
  4. Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the inner tie rod or measure thread turns to preserve alignment reference.
  5. Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen/remove the castle nut or retaining fastener on the tie rod end.
  6. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod separator (pickle fork) or ball joint puller; take care not to damage surrounding components.
  7. Loosen the jam nut and unthread the old inner tie rod from the outer tie rod or steering rack, noting the marked position.
  8. Thread the new inner tie rod into place to the same reference position or measured turns. If greaseable, apply grease per product instructions.
  9. Reattach the tie rod end to the steering knuckle, install and torque the retaining nut to the vehicle manufacturer's specification, and insert a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Tighten the jam nut against the inner tie rod to secure the adjustment.
  11. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
  12. Have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure proper toe settings and prevent tire wear.
