Front upper ball joint designed for 2006-2010 Ford and Mercury vehicles, serving as a critical steering and suspension pivot for the front upper control arm. This precision-engineered replacement restores proper wheel alignment, steering response, and suspension geometry, helping to eliminate play, uneven tire wear, and vibration.   • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the front upper ball joint on the control arm; spray penetrating oil on fasteners if needed.
  4. Remove any retaining cotter pin and castle nut (if equipped) from the ball joint stud and separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or hammer method.
  5. Unbolt or press out the old ball joint from the control arm following vehicle-specific service manual guidance.
  6. Press or bolt the new ball joint into the control arm, ensuring correct orientation and full seating.
  7. Reattach the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, torque the nut to manufacturer specification and install a new cotter pin if required.
  8. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
  9. Check and, if necessary, perform a wheel alignment after installation to ensure proper suspension geometry.
