Front outer tie rod end designed for 2015–2019 Ford vehicles, this direct-replacement steering component secures the steering linkage to the wheel hub and transmits driver input to the front wheels. Built from hardened steel with a corrosion-resistant finish and a durable rubber boot, it restores precise steering, reduces play and vibration, and helps maintain proper wheel alignment. Ideal for maintenance, restoration, or accident repair, this part delivers reliable performance and long service life while being straightforward to install for technicians and experienced DIYers.

Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a jack and secure it on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the outer tie rod end on the steering knuckle and apply penetrating oil to fasteners if needed.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod to allow rotation, then remove the castle nut or retaining nut on the outer tie rod end.
- Use a tie rod puller or a hammer to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle (avoid damaging the seal).
- Count the number of turns required to unthread the old tie rod end from the inner tie rod or measure the exposed length to maintain alignment settings.
- Unthread the old tie rod end and thread the new tie rod end onto the inner tie rod the same number of turns or to the measured length; tighten the jam nut to hold position.
- Insert the new tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle and install the castle nut or retaining nut. Torque to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to spec.
- Because this part affects steering alignment, have a professional 2-wheel or 4-wheel alignment performed as soon as possible after installation.
