Instructions:
- Remove the interior trim necessary to access the old weatherstrip and carefully pry out the existing seal or clips.
- Thoroughly clean the door jamb/channel where the new seal will seat; remove old adhesive, dirt and oils using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door perimeter to confirm orientation (left or right) and locate any necessary trimming points.
- If the original design uses adhesive, apply a thin, even layer of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Seat the leading end of the seal at the top hinge area and press firmly into place, working along the length of the door. Use masking tape to hold sections if needed while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife for a clean termination at corners or latch areas; avoid over-cutting.
- Reinstall any trim pieces or retaining clips removed earlier and allow adhesive to cure fully before closing the door if adhesive was used.
- Close the door and check for uniform compression, proper latch engagement, and any areas that may need additional seating or minor trimming.
