Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and work with windows fully closed. Protect painted surfaces with tape or cloth where needed.
- Carefully remove the existing beltline molding using a trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver, taking care not to bend the body flange or damage paint. Remove any old clips or adhesive.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate adhesive cleaner. Remove all dirt, old adhesive residue, and corrosion; allow the area to dry.
- Test-fit each molding piece to confirm orientation and fit. Make any minor adjustments before applying adhesive or clips.
- If the kit uses clips, install new clips in the original mounting locations. If adhesive is required, apply a continuous bead of automotive-grade adhesive to the back side of the molding as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Align the molding with the channel and press into place, engaging clips or seating adhesive. Use light, even pressure along the length of the molding; a rubber mallet with a protective block can help seat stubborn sections.
- Use masking tape to hold the molding in position while adhesive cures (if adhesive was used). Follow adhesive cure time—typically several hours to 24 hours—before removing tape.
- Inspect the installation for uniform gaps and secure attachment. Reinstall any removed trim or weatherstripping and perform a water test if desired to confirm seal integrity.
