Outer left rocker panel for 1964-1970 Ford Mustang designed to replace rusted or damaged OEM panels and restore structural integrity and appearance. This stamped, heavy-gauge panel follows factory contours for proper fit and alignment, protecting the sill area from road debris and corrosion. Ideal for restorations and collision repairs, it delivers long-lasting strength and a clean surface ready for seam-sealing, primer, and finish paint.
Features:
- Fits 1964-1970 Ford Mustang — outer left (driver-side) rocker panel replacement.
- Stamped heavy-gauge steel construction formed to match factory contours for accurate fit.
- Protects sill area, restores structural support, and prevents further rust and water intrusion.
- Designed for restoration and collision repair; provides OEM-style appearance and alignment.
- Corrosion-resistant finish for durability; prepares easily for primer and paint.
- Requires basic bodywork skills — designed for welding-in or panel-bonding installation.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 4/5
- Estimated time: 3-6 hours (depending on rust removal and finishing)
Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle: disconnect battery, elevate vehicle on stands, and remove trim, threshold, and any interior panels obstructing the rocker area.
- Inspect and mark the extent of corrosion; remove the old rocker panel by cutting or drilling out spot welds and grinding away rusted metal. Leave a clean, solid flange for welding.
- Test-fit the new rocker panel, checking alignment to door gaps, pinch welds, and underside flange. Trim as needed for a precise fit.
- Clamp the replacement panel in place and tack-weld at multiple points to maintain fit and avoid distortion. Re-check fitment frequently.
- Complete welds in short runs to minimize heat warping. Grind welds smooth and use hammer/dolly as needed to restore contours.
- Treat exposed metal and welds with rust inhibitor or epoxy primer. Apply seam sealer to joints and seams to prevent moisture intrusion.
- Finish with primer, block-sand, and paint to match the vehicle. Reinstall removed trim and interior components.
- Inspect final fit, check for proper door operation, and apply undercoating to the interior sill area for added protection.
