This windshield weatherstrip seal (WCR D619) provides a reliable, OEM-style sealing solution for installations that require a trim groove to accept steel windshield trim. Designed to fit all models except 2-door hardtop models, the profile seals the glass-to-body gap, secures steel trim, prevents water intrusion, and reduces wind noise. Constructed from a durable rubber compound, the seal resists weathering and maintains flexibility for long-lasting performance. Ideal for restoration and replacement applications, it offers dependable sealing, straightforward installation, and a clean finished appearance.
Features:
- Fits all models except 2-door hardtop models (check fitment before ordering).
- Engineered profile includes a trim groove to accept and secure steel windshield trim.
- Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound for long service life.
- Seals the windshield to prevent water leaks, drafts, and wind noise.
- OEM-style replacement ideal for restorations and maintaining factory appearance.
- Flexible design for easier installation and reliable retention of steel molding.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare the work area: park on level ground and protect paint with masking tape around the windshield perimeter.
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any retained steel trim carefully using a trim tool or flat screwdriver; retain steel trim if reusing.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and mounting surfaces of old adhesive, dirt, and rust; wipe with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield to confirm orientation and that the trim groove aligns with the steel molding.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel where indicated by the adhesive manufacturer (if required).
- Lubricate the weatherstrip bulb and groove with soapy water or silicone lubricant to ease installation.
- Starting at the top center, press the weatherstrip into the windshield channel and work outward toward each corner, ensuring consistent seating and alignment of the trim groove.
- If reusing or installing steel trim, slide the trim into the groove now, tapping gently with a rubber mallet where needed to seat it fully.
- Trim any excess material at the ends with a utility knife for a neat fit; reinstall any molding or retainers removed earlier.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions and perform a water test to verify a watertight seal before driving.
