Instructions:
- Remove the steel windshield trim and old weatherstrip carefully using trim tools and screwdrivers; cut away any remaining old seal with a razor blade.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and surrounding sheetmetal to remove old adhesive, dirt, and rust; dry surfaces completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield opening to confirm orientation and fit; identify the top/bottom and corner areas.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange where recommended by the vehicle’s restoration practice (many installations use adhesive only at corners or high-stress areas).
- Lubricate the inner bulb/profile lightly with soapy water or rubber lubricant to ease installation and slide the seal into place, seating the trim groove over the steel molding channel.
- Work the seal evenly around the opening, using masking tape to temporarily hold sections if needed; avoid stretching the seal excessively.
- Reinstall the steel windshield trim into the groove, ensuring it engages the channel fully and secures the seal against the glass and body.
- Inspect the seal for uniform seating and gaps; allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving or reassembling additional components.
