A 2-piece left and right vent glass weatherstrip seal kit designed to secure vent (quarter) glass, block water intrusion, and reduce wind noise. Built to restore a tight, factory-like seal on classic Volkswagen vent windows — verify part number VWK 2110 87 for exact fit. Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber compound to resist cracking and shrinkage, this kit helps maintain cabin comfort and protect interior trim and hardware from moisture damage.
Features:
- Fits select classic Volkswagen vent windows — verify part number VWK 2110 87 for exact fit.
- Includes left and right 2-piece seals to replace worn or damaged vent glass weatherstrips.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber formulation resists cracking, UV damage, and shrinking.
- Seals vent glass to prevent water leaks, drafts, and wind noise for improved cabin comfort.
- Restoration-grade replacement to return vents to original fit and appearance.
- Easy to install with basic tools; improves longevity of surrounding trim and hardware.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and fully open the vent/quarter window if applicable to access the seal.
- Carefully remove the existing weatherstrip: use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to pry out retaining beads or clips, and needle-nose pliers for stubborn sections. Take care not to damage the vent glass or frame.
- Clean the channel and surrounding frame thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or mild cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the new seal pieces to confirm orientation and fit. The kit includes left and right pieces—ensure each is positioned correctly before final installation.
- If desired or if the fit is loose, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Use masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive sets if needed.
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working along the length to seat the retaining bead. Make sure the sealing lip engages the vent glass evenly without folds or pinches.
- Operate the vent window slowly to confirm smooth movement and that the seal does not bind. Make any minor adjustments to seating as needed.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (if used). Recheck for leaks by running water over the vent area and inspect for proper sealing.
