The Precision Glass Weatherstrip Lockstrip WLS 1158 C is a heavy-duty replacement lockstrip that secures the window glass into the door weatherstrip channel to stop rattles, reduce wind noise, and prevent water intrusion. Built from a durable corrosion-resistant metal alloy with a smooth finish, it restores proper glass-to-seal engagement and prolongs weatherstrip life. Designed as a direct-fit OEM-style replacement where WLS 1158 C lockstrips are specified — check vehicle fitment before purchase. Ideal for restoration, repair, and maintenance projects, it delivers reliable performance and easy installation.
Features:
- Direct-fit OEM-style replacement where WLS 1158 C lockstrips are specified; verify fitment for your vehicle.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant metal alloy resists rust and maintains structural grip over time.
- Secures window glass in the weatherstrip channel to eliminate rattles and reduce wind noise.
- Helps prevent water intrusion and protects door interiors from moisture damage.
- Snap-in design for straightforward replacement without modifying glass or door components.
- Ideal for restoration and maintenance—restores factory fit and sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal if required by the vehicle and ensure the window is in a safe working position.
- Remove the interior door panel and any water shields or vapor barriers necessary to access the glass channel and mounting area.
- Carefully lower or raise the glass to a position that allows access to the lockstrip area; use a suction cup or have a helper support the glass.
- Locate and remove any retaining clips, screws, or old lockstrip pieces. Gently pull out the old lockstrip from the glass channel.
- Clean the glass edge and channel of old adhesive, debris, and corrosion with a shop towel. Inspect the weatherstrip for damage and replace if needed.
- Test-fit the new lockstrip to confirm orientation and length. Apply a small amount of silicone or graphite lubricant to ease installation if desired.
- Seat the new lockstrip onto the glass edge and press it into the weatherstrip channel until it fully engages; use steady pressure and avoid bending the strip.
- Operate the window several times to confirm smooth movement and proper sealing; check that the glass seats squarely and there are no gaps.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier and door panel, tighten all fasteners, reconnect any electrical connectors, and restore the battery connection if disconnected.
- Final check: test window operation and inspect for wind noise or leaks; make minor adjustments if necessary.
