Instructions:
- Open the hood and support it securely.
- Remove the old seal: pry out any clips or adhesive and carefully pull away the old gasket. Use a razor knife to cut through stubborn sections.
- Clean mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove grease, old adhesive, and dirt. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal along the hood-to-cowl channel to verify orientation and length; trim any excess with a utility knife so ends meet cleanly.
- If the seal requires adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherproof automotive sealant to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the seal firmly into the channel, ensuring the profile seats evenly and any locating ribs align with the channel.
- Close the hood gently to confirm fitment; reopen and make small adjustments if needed. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive to cure fully (if used) before driving — typically 24 hours — and re-check the seal for secure fit and gaps.
