Instructions:
- Open the door fully and inspect the existing weatherstrip; if needed, remove interior door panel to access mounting clips.
- Carefully peel or pry out the old weatherstrip and any retaining clips or adhesive remnants from the door channel.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner and let dry; remove rust or paint flakes if present.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to verify orientation and length; trim excess only if necessary.
- If existing mounting relied on adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive or adhesive promoter to the channel per product instructions; many direct-fit seals press into place without adhesive.
- Starting at the door hinge end, press the new seal firmly into the channel, working around the door and ensuring the bulb and sealing lip seat evenly into the flange.
- Reinstall any retaining clips or trim panels removed earlier and close the door to check alignment and sealing. Adjust seating as needed to eliminate gaps or pinch points.
- Allow any adhesive to cure as recommended before exposing to moisture; test drive and recheck after a short period to ensure the seal remains properly seated.
