Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: park on a level surface, disconnect the negative battery terminal if removing power accessories, and lower the window slightly if possible.
- Remove interior door panel and any trim pieces that block access to the beltline molding and glass run channel. Keep screws and clips organized.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding and channel: disengage clips or screws, and use a trim tool to pry out sections. Cut away any bonded rubber with a utility knife if necessary.
- Clean the mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new channels and moldings to ensure correct orientation and fitment. Confirm left/right placement before final installation.
- Lubricate the new glass run channel lightly with silicone spray or soapy water to ease window insertion and prevent pinching.
- Install the new glass run channels into the door frame, aligning with factory mounting points. Press clips or fasteners into place, and use a rubber mallet gently if needed to seat metal trim.
- Reinstall the beltline molding over the channel, ensuring it snaps into the original trim retainers and matches adjacent panels for even gaps.
- Operate the window several times to check for smooth travel, proper sealing, and to confirm there is no binding or interference.
- Reinstall the door panel and any removed trim. Clean the area and perform a final inspection for fit, finish, and water-tightness.
