Instructions:
- Open the door and remove any trim panels or retainers that block access to the old weatherstrip if necessary.
- Carefully pull the old weatherstrip out of the door channel. Use a trim tool or small flat screwdriver to release any clips, taking care not to damage the painted metal.
- Clean the door channel and surrounding flange thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover to remove old adhesive, dirt and debris. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to confirm orientation and fit. Trim any excess with a utility knife if required for a perfect match.
- If the replacement seal uses adhesive backing, peel and press firmly into the channel. If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel, position the seal, and press it into place starting at the top and working down.
- Ensure the seal seats fully into the channel and any factory clip locations are engaged. Close the door gently to verify seal compression and alignment; adjust as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's directions (typically 30 minutes to several hours) before exposing to water or heavy use. Reinstall any removed trim panels.
