This kit provides a direct-fit replacement weatherseal that secures and seals door, trunk, or body openings to prevent water intrusion, wind noise, and vibration. Made to restore original sealing performance, the kit combines a durable rubber profile with precision-fit tolerances for reliable, long-lasting protection and straightforward installation during restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1967 models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove (CWK 2110 67).
- Premium, weather-resistant rubber profile reproducing the original sealing contour.
- Designed to secure trim and create a reliable seal to block water, dust, and wind noise.
- Durable construction resists compression set, ozone and UV degradation for long service life.
- Direct-fit replacement ideal for restorations or routine weatherseal maintenance.
- Easy to install with basic tools and adhesive; trim-to-fit for precise application.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out retaining clips or trim and peel away the old seal. Save any reusable clips.
- Clean the mounting channel: remove old adhesive and debris, then wipe the surface with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new seal: lay the new weatherstrip into the channel to check alignment and identify trimming points. Start at a corner or the longest run.
- Trim as needed: cut to length with a utility knife or scissors, leaving small allowances at corners for bending and overlap if required.
- Apply adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal backing where indicated.
- Install the seal: press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working along the length to seat the trim groove. Use masking tape or clamps to hold the seal in place where necessary and to ensure full contact while the adhesive sets.
- Reinstall clips and trim: if any retaining clips or trim were removed, reinstall them to secure the seal. Replace any damaged clips with new ones for best fit.
- Final check and cure time: verify uniform compression and alignment. Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (typically several hours) before closing doors or exposing the area to moisture.
