Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and work in a dry, well-lit area. Gather kit and tools.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: peel away from the trim groove and remove any retaining clips or fasteners.
- Clean the trim groove and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the groove to confirm orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife or scissors if necessary.
- If recommended for your application, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the groove or on the seal per the adhesive instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the trim groove starting at one end and working to the other; use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly without distorting the profile.
- Reinstall any retaining clips or trim pieces removed earlier; replace damaged clips as needed.
- Close doors/windows and check for uniform contact and proper latch alignment; adjust as needed. Allow adhesive to cure fully before exposing to moisture if adhesive was used.
