The Precision Glass Run Channel, Left and Right Hand, 4 Piece Kit GRK 2111 73 is an OE-style replacement set that restores proper window alignment and sealing in vehicle doors. This left- and right-side 4-piece kit (inner and outer channels) guides the door glass, reduces wind noise and rattles, prevents water intrusion, and minimizes glass wear. Made from a weather-resistant rubber compound with reinforced edges for long-lasting flexibility and fit, the channels deliver reliable sealing performance and smoother window operation. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the kit offers durable performance and straightforward installation with basic hand tools.
Features:
- 4-piece kit includes left and right hand, inner and outer glass run channels (GRK 2111 73).
- OE-style replacement restores proper window alignment and sealing.
- Weather-resistant rubber compound resists cracking and fading for long service life.
- Helps reduce wind noise, rattles, and water intrusion while minimizing glass wear.
- Reinforced edges provide a secure fit and reliable guidance for smooth window movement.
- Designed for restoration and maintenance applications; improves sealing and appearance.
- Straightforward installation requiring common trim-removal and hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if working near powered windows, and lower the window glass slightly to access mounting points.
- Remove the door panel: pry off trim pieces, remove screws, and carefully disengage clips using a trim removal tool. Set panel and hardware aside.
- Detach any vapor barrier or insulation as needed and unplug electrical connectors for switches or speakers.
- Lower the glass to a position where the top edge of the old glass run channel is accessible, then support the glass (tape or a helper) to prevent movement.
- Carefully remove the old glass run channels: unclip or unbolt retainers, cut away any adhesive if present, and pull the old rubber channels free from the metal door track.
- Thoroughly clean the channel mounting area with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth; remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris to ensure a solid fit.
- Test-fit the new channels to confirm left/right orientation and correct placement. Trim any excess if necessary following vehicle-specific guidance.
- Apply a light coat of silicone spray or weatherstrip lubricant to the channel lips and glass edge to ease installation and reduce wear.
- Install the new channels into the door track, seating inner and outer pieces fully into their grooves and engaging any clips or fasteners. Reposition the glass into the channels and cycle the window slowly to check operation and alignment.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier, reconnect electrical connectors, replace the door panel and trim pieces, and tighten all hardware. Test the window operation several times to confirm smooth movement and proper sealing.
