Instructions:
- Lower the window glass to a position where the run channel is accessible (if possible).
- Remove the interior door panel: remove screws and fasteners, then gently pry the panel away and disconnect any wiring harnesses.
- Carefully peel back or remove any inner moisture barrier to expose the channel area.
- Loosen or remove any clips or fasteners holding the old glass run channel in place. Use needle-nose pliers as needed.
- If the old channel is adhered or stiff, cut it away in sections with a utility knife, taking care not to nick the metal door frame or glass.
- Thoroughly clean the channel mounting surface and window edge with solvent and a clean cloth to remove adhesive residue and debris.
- Lightly lubricate the new channel with silicone spray or soapy water to ease installation and prevent binding.
- Press the new run channel into the door frame, aligning clips or retaining features. For two-piece installs, fit the top and bottom sections so they meet smoothly without gaps.
- Reinstall any clips or fasteners, ensuring the channel seats fully along the entire length. Trim any excess material if necessary for a flush fit.
- Cycle the window up and down several times to verify smooth operation and proper sealing. Adjust fit as needed.
- Reinstall the moisture barrier and interior door panel, reconnecting any wiring and securing all fasteners.
- Wipe down the glass and channel, and perform a final leak/noise check.
