A 6-piece screw kit engineered to securely fasten the armrest to the door on 1981–1996 Ford Mustang models. These replacement fasteners restore original fit and finish, prevent rattles, and provide long-lasting corrosion resistance for restoration and maintenance projects. Durable, OEM-style hardware makes installation quick and reliable for DIYers and professionals alike.
Features:
  • Fits 1981–1996 Ford Mustang (Fox-body) armrest-to-door mounting points.
  • Contains six OEM-style replacement screws to secure the armrest to the door.
  • Made from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant plating for durability.
  • Prevents armrest movement and reduces door-panel vibration and rattles.
  • Direct replacement hardware for restoration or repair—easy to install.
  • Ideal for refurbishing original interiors or replacing missing/worn fasteners.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver (No. 2)
  • Trim panel removal tool or flat screwdriver (wrapped to protect trim)
  • Ratchet and small socket set (for access if needed)
  • Needle-nose pliers (optional)
  • Medium-strength threadlocker (optional for restorations)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near powered components.
  2. Remove the door panel or gain access to the armrest mounting points by gently prying trim clips with a trim tool; set clips aside for reinstallation.
  3. Locate and remove the old or damaged armrest screws. Keep any original washers if present.
  4. Position the armrest in its correct location and align the mounting holes with the door inserts.
  5. Insert the replacement screws from the kit by hand to ensure proper thread engagement and alignment.
  6. Tighten screws evenly using a Phillips screwdriver until snug. Do not overtighten—stop when the armrest is secure and the panel is seated.
  7. If desired for long-term restorations, apply a small amount of medium-strength threadlocker to screws before final tightening to prevent loosening from vibration.
  8. Reinstall the door panel and trim clips, reconnect any electrical connections, and test the armrest for secure fit and absence of rattles.
