Direct-replacement headlight adjuster screw for 1969–1978 Ford cars designed to restore proper headlight aiming and keep the headlamp assembly secure. This precision replacement part threads into the headlight bucket to allow accurate vertical (and in some assemblies, horizontal) aiming, preventing beam wander, reducing vibration, and maintaining safe nighttime visibility. Built for durability and reliable operation in restoration and maintenance projects, it’s an easy, cost-effective way to return classic Ford headlights to correct alignment and OEM-style function.
Features:
  • Fits 1969–1978 Ford passenger cars (direct replacement for original headlight adjuster screws).
  • Quality steel construction with a corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Provides precise headlight aiming to improve nighttime visibility and road safety.
  • Helps secure the headlight assembly, reducing vibration and preventing lamp misalignment.
  • Direct-fit, simple swap ideal for restoration, maintenance, or replacing worn adjusters.
  • Smooth, durable threads for easy adjustment and reliable retention.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips or flat-head screwdriver (for trim ring/bezel screws)
  • Socket set or nut driver (sizes vary by vehicle)
  • Pliers
  • Penetrating oil (if fasteners are corroded)
  • Anti-seize or light grease
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, turn off the vehicle, and disconnect the battery if desired for safety.
  2. Remove the headlight bezel/trim ring by loosening the retaining screws to access the adjuster area.
  3. If necessary, remove the headlamp bulb and retaining spring to gain clearance for the adjuster screw.
  4. Apply penetrating oil to any corroded fasteners; back out the old adjuster screw using the appropriate driver or pliers.
  5. Clean the adjuster mounting hole and threads with a brush or cloth; apply a light coat of anti-seize or grease to the new screw threads.
  6. Insert and thread the new adjuster screw into the headlight bucket by hand, then snug with the appropriate tool—do not overtighten.
  7. Reinstall the headlamp, retaining spring, and trim ring. Reconnect the battery if disconnected.
  8. Adjust headlight aim per factory specifications (usually using vertical and horizontal adjusters) and test with the vehicle on a level surface to confirm proper alignment.
