Two-piece headlight adjuster screw set designed for direct replacement on 1969–1978 Ford cars. These adjusters secure and fine-tune headlight positioning, restoring correct beam alignment and bezel fitment after wear or corrosion. Made for durability and reliable operation, the kit provides an OEM-style fit and straightforward installation that benefits restorations and routine maintenance by eliminating play and reducing vibration.
Features:
- Fits 1969–1978 Ford cars (direct replacement for period Ford passenger vehicles).
- Two-piece design (adjuster screw + retainer) for accurate, repeatable headlight aiming.
- Constructed from durable metal with a corrosion-resistant finish to extend service life.
- Restores proper headlight alignment, secures the bezel, and reduces vibration-induced movement.
- Easy drop-in replacement for worn or corroded adjusters—ideal for restoration projects.
- Improves reliability and safety by allowing precise on-vehicle beam adjustment.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on level ground and switch off the lights. If desired, disconnect the battery for extra safety.
- Remove the headlight bezel/trim ring by unscrewing the retaining screws and carefully set the bezel aside.
- Support the headlight to prevent it from dropping, then locate and remove the old adjuster screw and retainer. Apply penetrating oil if the fastener is seized.
- Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area of corrosion and debris, wiping with a rag.
- Assemble the new two-piece adjuster (insert the screw through the retainer or bushing as required by the original configuration).
- Insert the new adjuster into the mounting hole and hand-start the retainer/nut. Tighten snugly with the appropriate wrench or socket—do not over-torque.
- Reinstall the headlight bezel and trim ring, securing all screws.
- Aim the headlights: park ~25 ft (8 m) from a flat wall on level ground, turn on low beams, and adjust vertical/horizontal aim using the new adjusters until beams meet specification or desired alignment.
- Perform a short road test to verify aim and re-tighten fasteners if any movement is detected.
