This heavy-gauge steel tray provides a secure, factory-style mounting surface to hold the battery in place, reduce vibration, and prevent battery movement and acid damage to the vehicle floor. Designed to restore original fitment and durability, the tray features corrosion-resistant coating and precise holes for OE-style hardware, making it a reliable, long-lasting replacement during restorations or routine maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1965–1979 Ford trucks and 1978–1979 Ford Bronco models
  • Made from heavy-gauge steel for long-term strength and rigidity
  • Corrosion-resistant finish helps protect vehicle floors from battery acid
  • Restores original mounting location and accepts OE-style hardware
  • Reduces battery vibration and movement for safer operation
  • Straightforward bolt-in replacement ideal for restorations and repairs
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Wrench or socket set (common sizes 9/16"–3/4")
  • Screwdriver
  • Wire brush or grinder (for surface prep)
  • Battery jack or lifting assistance (optional)
  • Rust inhibitor or primer and paint (optional)
  • Torque wrench (recommended)
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery cable first, then the positive cable.
  2. Remove the battery from the tray and set it on a safe insulated surface or use a battery jack.
  3. Remove battery hold-down hardware and any fasteners securing the old tray. If tray is rusted, cut or grind fasteners as needed and remove remnants.
  4. Clean the mounting area thoroughly with a wire brush or grinder to remove rust, debris, and old sealant. Treat bare metal with rust inhibitor or primer if desired.
  5. Test-fit the new tray into the mounting location to confirm alignment with factory holes and hardware.
  6. Secure the tray with appropriate bolts or OE-style hardware. Tighten to snug; use a torque wrench and follow factory torque specs when available.
  7. Reinstall battery hold-down hardware and place the battery in the new tray. Reconnect the positive battery cable first, then the negative cable.
  8. Verify battery is secure, check for proper clearance to nearby components, and inspect for any movement during a short road test.
