This 29-piece console hardware kit is a direct-fit restoration set for 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird consoles. Designed to secure and align console trim, panels, and accessory mounts, the kit replaces worn or missing fasteners with corrosion-resistant, restoration-grade components. It restores factory fit and finish, reduces rattle and vibration, and simplifies reassembly with organized, like-for-like pieces for a reliable, long-lasting repair.
Features:
  • Fits 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird console assemblies (29-piece kit).
  • Contains a complete set of console fasteners—screws, nuts, washers, and mounting hardware—to replace missing or damaged pieces.
  • Corrosion-resistant plated steel components for durability and long-term reliability.
  • Restoration-grade, OEM-style replacements that help eliminate rattles and align trim panels.
  • Easy to use for restoration or maintenance—organized pieces speed up console reassembly and finishing.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Socket set and ratchet (common SAE/metric sizes)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Clean rag and mild cleaner
  • Optional: thread locker (medium strength)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the work area and, if you will be disconnecting electrical connectors inside the console, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
  2. Remove the console trim pieces and any accessories (shifter bezel, ashtray, armrest, etc.) to expose the existing fasteners. Use a trim tool to avoid damaging trim.
  3. Carefully label or note the location of each original fastener as you remove it so you can match new pieces to the correct locations.
  4. Remove old or damaged hardware and clean mounting surfaces with a mild cleaner and rag. Ensure threads and holes are clear of debris.
  5. Sort the new kit pieces and test-fit each fastener in its intended location to confirm fit and orientation before final installation.
  6. Install the new fasteners in the same pattern as the originals. Hand-start screws and bolts to avoid cross-threading, then tighten snugly with the appropriate tool.
  7. If desired, apply a medium-strength thread locker to bolts that experience vibration. Do not over-tighten; fasteners should be secure but not overstressed.
  8. Reinstall console trim and accessories, verify gaps and alignment, and test for any remaining rattles. Reconnect the battery if it was disconnected.
