Two-piece left and right vent glass weatherstrip seal kit designed to restore a tight, leak-free fit for 1967 Volkswagen Beetle front vent (ventwing) windows. These precision-molded rubber seals secure the vent glass, block wind and water intrusion, reduce rattles and road noise, and return the vents to proper alignment. Durable, flexible material resists cracking and compression set for reliable long-term performance and straightforward replacement during restoration or maintenance.
Features:
- Fits 1967 Volkswagen Beetle front vent (ventwing) windows — left and right, 2-piece kit
- Molded rubber composition resists weathering, UV, and compression for long service life
- Secures vent glass to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and rattling
- Factory-style profile restores original fit and alignment for cosmetic and functional restoration
- Simple replacement — no special molding tools required; trims to fit if necessary
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully open the vent window and support the vent glass so it cannot fall when the seal is removed.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by prying out the retaining lip with a plastic trim tool or flat-head screwdriver; use pliers for any stubborn sections.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal on the vent glass and in the channel to confirm orientation (left vs. right).
- Apply a light mist of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the seal to aid installation. If desired, apply a small amount of weatherstrip adhesive in the channel where recommended.
- Starting at one end, press the new seal lip into the channel and work along the perimeter, seating the seal fully into the channel. Use a plastic trim tool to tuck the lip without damaging the seal.
- Reinstall and adjust the vent glass to ensure smooth operation and proper alignment. Tighten any fasteners previously removed.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's instructions (if used). Recheck fit and operation and trim any excess material if necessary.
