Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: park on level ground, open the door and support any trim panels if needed.
- Remove the old molding: gently pry out the molding using a trim tool, removing any retaining clips or screws. Keep fasteners if reusable.
- Clean the channel: remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion. Wipe the area with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new pieces: align each molding piece to the beltline to confirm correct orientation and fit before final installation.
- Attach fasteners: install new or retained clips/screws into the molding as needed. Use masking tape to hold the molding in position if necessary.
- Seat the molding: press the molding firmly into place along the beltline, tapping gently with a rubber mallet where needed to engage clips.
- Secure and adjust: verify continuous contact along the length and adjust alignment for an even gap and flush appearance.
- Final inspection: ensure all clips/screws are secure and the molding sits flush. Clean the area and test the door operation for any interference.
