1965-1966 Ford Thunderbird Door Courtesy Light Bezel Screw Set is a purpose-made replacement screw kit designed to securely fasten the door courtesy light bezels in classic Thunderbirds. These corrosion-resistant screws restore the original look and function of the interior trim, preventing bezel movement and rattles while providing a reliable, long-lasting fastening solution. Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance, the kit offers an easy, direct-fit replacement that helps preserve interior appearance and ensures the courtesy lights remain properly mounted.
Features:
  • Fits 1965-1966 Ford Thunderbird door courtesy light bezels.
  • Durable metal construction with a corrosion-resistant finish for long life.
  • Secures courtesy light bezels to prevent vibration, rattles, and misalignment.
  • Direct-fit replacement for worn or missing factory screws during restorations.
  • Easy to install—designed for straightforward, accurate fastening without modification.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Philips screwdriver (size #1 or #2)
  • Small flat-blade screwdriver or trim tool
  • Needle-nose pliers (optional)
  • Clean cloth
  • Small container for old screws
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface and turn interior lights off; remove the courtesy light bulb or switch to avoid accidental contact with the bulb.
  2. Open the door and locate the courtesy light bezel. If present, gently pry surrounding trim as needed using a trim tool to expose the screw heads.
  3. Use a correctly sized Phillips screwdriver to remove the old or damaged screws, supporting the bezel with your other hand so it does not fall.
  4. Place removed screws in a small container so they are not lost and inspect the bezel and mounting holes for damage or debris.
  5. Clean the screw holes and bezel mating surface with a clean cloth; remove any rust or old thread compound. Apply a light coating of anti-seize if desired for future removal.
  6. Position the bezel and insert the replacement screws by hand to start threads—do not cross-thread. Tighten screws evenly and snugly with the Phillips screwdriver; avoid overtightening to prevent cracking the bezel or stripping threads.
  7. Check bezel alignment and ensure the courtesy light functions correctly. Reinstall the bulb if removed and test the light by opening and closing the door.
  8. If any mounting holes are stripped or the bezel is damaged, address the underlying issue (thread repair or bezel replacement) before final installation to ensure a secure fit.
