Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect painted surfaces with cloths or masking tape.
- Carefully remove the old windshield molding using a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver; work slowly to avoid damaging paint or the windshield.
- Trim away any remaining adhesive or old rubber with a utility knife and clean the channel thoroughly with alcohol or adhesive cleaner. Allow to dry.
- Inspect the windshield edge and retainer channel for rust or damage; repair as needed before installing new molding.
- Test-fit the new molding pieces in place without adhesive to confirm orientation and alignment.
- If adhesive is specified or required, apply a thin, even bead of windshield adhesive or recommended sealant to the channel per product instructions.
- Press the molding firmly into the channel starting at one end and working around the windshield, using a rubber mallet or hand pressure to seat the molding until it snaps or seats fully.
- Reinstall any trim clips or retainers and wipe away excess adhesive immediately with a clean cloth.
- Allow adhesive or sealant to cure per the manufacturer’s instructions (if used) before driving. Recheck for gaps or movement and make final adjustments as needed.
