Complete windshield rain gutter installation hardware set designed for 1964-1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertibles. This kit secures the windshield-to-gutter interface, restoring proper fitment, preventing water intrusion, and reducing wind noise and vibration. Manufactured from corrosion-resistant fasteners and precision-formed components, the set provides reliable, long-lasting performance and an OEM-like fit — ideal for restoration projects and repairs. Easy to install with basic hand tools, it helps ensure a watertight seal and correct gutter alignment for years of dependable use.
Features:
  • Fits 1964-1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible models
  • Corrosion-resistant fasteners and precision-formed components for long life
  • Secures windshield rain gutter assembly to prevent leaks and reduce vibration
  • OEM-style fit for accurate alignment during restorations or replacements
  • Simple installation with common tools; designed for repeatable, reliable results
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips and flat blade screwdrivers
  • Socket set and ratchet (common sizes)
  • Trim removal tool or plastic pry
  • Wire brush or fine abrasive pad
  • Cleaning solvent (isopropyl alcohol or wax & grease remover)
  • Automotive urethane or silicone sealant
  • Caulking gun
  • Torque wrench (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if working near electrical trim, and protect painted surfaces with fender covers.
  2. Carefully remove the windshield trim and old gutter hardware using a trim tool and appropriate screwdrivers; retain any reusable trim pieces.
  3. Remove old sealant and rust from the gutter/channel and windshield flange using a wire brush and solvent; ensure surfaces are clean and dry.
  4. Test-fit new hardware components to confirm correct orientation and fit before applying sealant.
  5. Apply a continuous bead of automotive urethane or recommended sealant to the windshield flange or gutter per sealant manufacturer instructions.
  6. Position the gutter and install the new fasteners in the recommended sequence — hand-start all fasteners first to align components.
  7. Tighten fasteners progressively and evenly. If torque specs are unavailable, tighten until snug — avoid over-tightening to prevent distortion.
  8. Reinstall windshield trim and verify even gaps and alignment; wipe away excess sealant before it skins over.
  9. Allow sealant to cure per product instructions (typically 24 hours) before exposing to water; avoid driving until cure is sufficient.
  10. Perform a water test or road test to check for leaks and wind noise; recheck fastener tightness after initial use.
