Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on level ground, engage the parking brake, and open the hood.
- If necessary for access, remove the windshield wiper arms: mark their position, loosen the retaining nuts, and lift the arms off their splines.
- Use a trim removal tool or flat screwdriver to gently pry out the damaged or old cowl clips. Protect surrounding paint and trim while prying.
- Clean the clip mounting holes and mating surfaces with a rag to remove debris and corrosion.
- Align the cowl panel or trim piece with the mounting holes.
- Insert the new fastener clips into the holes and press firmly until each clip snaps or seats fully into place.
- Reinstall the windshield wiper arms in their original position and tighten the retaining nuts to the specified torque (refer to vehicle service manual).
- Close the hood, check panel alignment, and test for any movement or water intrusion. Dispose of old clips properly.
